Man has the natural tendency to run after material wealth sacrificing his health in the process; and at one point he starts to chase his health giving up his wealth. The degree of incidence may vary to person to person but the phenomenon continues barring the few disciplined individuals.
Every aspect of our life need to have a balance, be it the intake of food, acquiring of wealth, the interpersonal relationships, raising children, passion for our chosen profession. You just can not ignore one to the other.
Our friend Rochak Parekh has gone through a nightmarish experience and discovered the importance of good health as a vital part for our life's journey. One who has gone through such a hellish experience is wanting to share his feelings as well as to caution others to take this most important aspect of our life quite seriously. His thoughts and the resultant resolution to share his experiences and knowledge through this blog is highly commendable. It will be a good platform to share, pool in the resources of so many readers which can truly bring in sunshine into our lives forever.
My starting contribution in his new endeavour is to own this book:
Health In Your Hands : Acupressure and Natural Therapies (2 Vols.)
by Devendra Vora
My Late father-in-law was fond of giving it as gift to many of his friends and relatives.
Incidentally, one of our readers, Mr.Tushar Desai is quite enthusistic about contributions and I am giving a link provided by him and you can expect more from him in the coming days..

I remember the small incident a couple of years ago. In a bylane of a small town, I was smoking and this lady comes to me and holds my hands and pleads me not to smoke. She said "hum logon ne isko jhel liya. humein maloom hain yeh kya karsakti hain". I threw the cigarette and moved away; it didnot make an impact at that time but I can now imagine the loss she must have had. Was it her husband? son? Do we need a health event for the truth to dawn!
ReplyDeleteAs I celebrate the second month of smoke free life, here are coupleof links for any of my smoker friends out there... throw the sickrette.. and get well mamu.. If I can, you can...
